Weekend Warrior
Enthusiastic participant is a best description. Ran 440’s and 880’s in middle school. What I may lack in gazelle like speed and grace, I make up for in determination and grit. Track scholarships or podium hero shots not a major concern. Ran decent times in my 30’s when my weight was a svelte 150's, several years of base and quality training. A key activity for a healthy lifestyle, seeing me this far without any significant ailments. Racing / Training with Walt Rudy (RIP) or Betti Featherly, was always the best! CNY midweek sprint tri’s, plus the various area club runs keep me motivated. Central New York area has numerous active clubs providing plenty of training and racing opportunities. No big mention on swimming intentionally. Although I enjoy it, I am slow at best.

Cycling

Glorified weekend warrior. Syracuse, NY 1990-1998 Onondaga Cycling Club, Wheels cycling team. Much of my bike training was targeted for biathlons and triathlons with an occasional road race.

Volunteered many years for event planning and as a tour guide for MS150 events, and American Lung Association cycling events

Running
A serious component of my keeping healthy regimen. Miler to marathons. Volunteer for some of the local road races:
  • Race for the Cure @ Syracuse (95’-96’) Course Director
  • Chemical Bank Challenge @ Syracuse (93’-95’) Course Director
  • Willow Bay Women’s Distance Festival (94’-present) Course Director
  • Syracuse Festival of Races (93’-96’) Technical Director
  • Biathlons - Triathlons
Regional Events in CNY, and Eastern Massachusetts- sprint, olympic, half ironman distances, and team events. Elmirathon was always my favorite biathlon event.
